Dan Davis, the indefatigable club president, has once again organized and managed a highly successful event in a beautiful outdoor venue right here at home! Dan has sustained this club for many decades (yep X 10’s) and his contributions to the entire orienteering community are both commendable and appreciated. Throughout the years – thousands of people, both individually and through groups such as JROTC & Scouts, have benefited from his tireless efforts and expertise. His value to the COK and to the many who rely on the club for a fun, challenging outdoor sport is priceless. Dan and his lovely wife Jeannette, thank you doesn’t seem sufficient. But, THANK YOU both!

Naturally, Dan or anyone else who runs orienteering events doesn’t do it alone. The club relies heavily on volunteers who love the sport and want to see it flourish well into the future. For this meet at McDowell – these kind folks are recognized for control pick-up: Jess, Jim, Keith, & Dave. Without lots of people willing to step up and take on more club responsibilities – the future is uncertain.

Please consider giving a little of your talents to keep the club going – we’re in great need for: website management, course design & set-up, finances/treasurer, and event organizer.  Volunteering doesn’t take up that much time and it’s so worth the effort to keep this great sport alive in our region.
