REEDY CREEK NATURE PRESERVE & PARK

The morning started cold but turned out to be a nice day for orienteering. There were a number of no-shows, though, which may have had to do with the weather.

We are seeing some very good times on the Red course with Sergei Zhyk burning up the woods with a 53:08 minute run, followed by Jeremiah Reiner at 76:43 and Walter Siegenthaler at 79:35.

Thanks to Sandy Kohn for designing and field checking the courses.  Jeannette and I had fun hanging the controls and managed to not get rained on.

Once again, there was good support with control pick-up which is so important to the Meet Director. Thanks to all that helped.  We were out of the park by 4:00PM.

One very important reminder:  Please be sure to secure the finger stick with the cord that is attached to it by tying the cord around a finger.   Don’t depend on the elastic strap to keep the finger stick secure. We had one loss yesterday and the club has to charge for the loss when that happens.
