Morrow Mountain State Park, December 6

Saturday, Dec 6th was a beautiful, yet chilly day for an orienteering meet at Morrow Mountain State Park!

We had a great turnout, and also assisted the simultaneous Naval JROTC regional meet taking place only 100 yards or so from the COK registration area. They also had a large turnout.

Besides all the orienteering competitors running through the woods, it seemed as though we mostly had this wonderful park all to ourselves. Walter Siegenthaler once again set up an extremely fun, yet challenging course on this hilly site in the gorgeous Uwharrie Mountains!

Thanks to Walter for setting the course as well as his assistance in picking up all the controls afterwards with the help of Kris DeBerry and Jess Greer!  Thanks to Dan Davis who helped set up registration and also taught a beginners class.

Special thanks to Keith Andrew for being the meet director with assistance from his friend David Nichols, for making everything go smoothly with the event!
